Hey! What is this hole on the Timing Cover?
#2
That isn't on mine. Mine is a '90 & '92 engine. It appears from your oil pan view, to be the hole for earlier engines with dipstick in timing cover. My oil pan is completely reversed as to uours with the deep part of the oil pan on the rear. The depth of your oil pan is larger in the front.

Thanks. This isnt my engine, its my buddy's 302. I recently rebuilt my 85 351w (rear sump pan with oil stick in the side of the pan) and have the same hole in the cover that I bought from the parts store. I currently and a rubber plug covering the hole but need to seal it better. My project is not on the road yet so I have time. Thanks again.
