I just wanted to let everyone know that my F-250 super crew 6L deisel came back from the dealer yesterday fixed. After the re-programming and changing out the ICP sensor.
I had to go back three times but they fixed it yesterday. I don't notice the white smoke on start up either. The truck has all the power anyone would want and runs smoothly thru all the operating ranges. The motor runs great now and I am a happy camper again.
This just goes to show that there is a fix out there for these motors and all's that necessary is the right person working on them.
Stay on your dealer and Ford motor company. Document everything and I think you will find they will solve the problem.
I had mine in for 2 weeks, they replaced the ICP and reprogrammed it. I have had white smoke since I got it back and just this past weekend it developed rough idle AGAIN. I already have an appointment set for tommorrow morning because I have a small oil drip between the motor and transmission. Hopefully mine can be fixed and returned to it's normal self.
Towelheadduster, would you mind posting your location and dealer. I would like for your tech to get a hold of mine. Good techs are out there, they are just hard to find. I have the same problem you did.
I would like for anyone who got the rough idle problem fixed to post who the dealer was that fixed it so I could get in touch with that dealership to find out the cure. Thanks, yojak
it is not the dealer or the tech that fixes the truck
it is the software update that dose it
unless you update the WDS {what reprograms your pcm ] is updated on a dally basis you might not get the latest and greatest re-flash

TOWELHEADDUSTER , said (Rough Idel and chugging fixed) Would you be so kind to E-mail DTharp7267(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and tell me the name of your DealerShip, City, & State so I can have them send our dealers the flash for our PCMs. I will keep your info: confidential! Thank you, David
TOWELHEADDUSTER, My dealership is using the B-25.0 WDS update. (Configuration) That's what Steve, is using at your Dealership. Three Dealers in the East Texas area are still having ruff idle problems with the B-25.0 update! Are you barely pushing the accelerator 100RPMs or so above idle? . Holding it there for about 5 sec. with No problems? Or, like when you back up to a trailer? No problems? PCM,WDS, B-25.0 update fixed the loss of power at our dealers. Not the ruff idle problem. Thanx, David
B4 THE FIX THE ROUGH IDEL OCCURED AT IDEL IN FORWARD OCCASIONALLY BUT ALL THE TIME IN REVERSE WHEN BACKING UP WITH NO OR LITTLE THROTTEL PRESSURE. THE TRUCK WAS REALLY A PAIN IN THE *** TO DRIVE.
AFTER THE FIX I DONT HAVE THE PROBLEM ANYWHERE!!!!! I HAVE TRIED TO GET THE TRUCK TO REPEAT THE PROBLEM BUT CANNOT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GET THE TRUCK TO DO IT.
LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS AND IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE WRITE AND I WILL CHECK IN FROM TIME TO TIME.
TOWELHEADDUSTER, My dealership is using the B-25.0 WDS, CUA update. (Configuration) That's what Steve, is using at your Dealership. Three Dealers in the East Texas area are still having ruff idle problems with the CUA, WDS,B-25.0 update! My service manager is using the "CUA" the (Last) update. Back from the "BDL" (Latest update). Ford is who makes these changes! Ford has two dedicated engineers working on the problems now! Are you barely pushing the accelerator 100RPMs or so above idle? Holding it there for about 1 to 5 sec. with No problems? Or, like when you back up to a trailer? No problems? Or on a hill in gear? With the truck at normal operating temp! PCM,WDS, B-25.0, CUA, and BDL update fixed the loss of power at our dealers. Not the ruff idle problems. Thanx, David
David,
I tried holding the gas on for the longest time with light throttle pressure and the truck does not falter. It does not do it in reverse or forward, or at anytime at all. I know my truck is fixed and it runs great.
I hope they fix your problem soon. Are you sure the programming is the problem. Sounds like it may be another problem. Stay in touch and if I can help you let me know.
