1964 Ford Project start

So I bought a 64 F100 sb 1/2 ton about a year ago. Currently it has a 351W(?i think?). Im not sure what the trans is. The motor runs poorly and the trans doesnt shift properly. Its been setup to be a hotrod and I have no interest in such a setup. My grandpa had a 63 f100 with an I6 and I would kind of like to have the feeling of working on that truck again. Sadly it was stolen and subsequently junked.
I bought a rebuilt I6 motor and trans from a guy on craigslist for about 400 bucks. He said it came from a 76f100 and was a 300. It's not. I did a little research (i googled it) and I think its a 57ish 233. I was wondering if anyone could give me a little more info on what this is.

Depending on how the 64 was butchered to fit the 351 you can make everything back to stock and use the 223 as it was a base engine for 64.

Nothing attached to the 351 will work with the 223.

Correct engine color, Black block and head, For red valve cover.
