Better option?
I will soon begin building up a 74 F100 pickup. It is a 2wd and will be just a weekend cruiser but I also want it to be fun to drive. Although I am a long way from being ready to drop in an engine, I am trying to figure out what engine would make the best option. I have a 302 from an 87 Bronco that probably would need to be taken down and rebuilt. I can rebuild the 302 or possibly make it a 347 for more power. I'm not sure how much hp i need but an engine with good torque is what I'm looking for. Another option would be to buy or build a 351. I think I want to stay with a small block at this point. Any recommendations?

Start with a roller 351 from a 95-97 pickup or van. Add a set of GT40 heads (or any better heads), then top it with an RPM intake and a 650 Holley and headers. The stock roller cam will do fine here, good mileage and killer torque to move the truck.
