any input on the edge evolution 2 has gauges programmer/tuner and trouble code reading and ability to turn cels off. it also has egt probe. with just a basic tunes truck is stock.
What you are going to find on this forum is that there are favorites that have a good following therefore lots of people to help spend your money. Dashboss for Apple products and Torque app for Android based products. Scangauge II is another favorite. None of these cost more than $200.
I use the Torque app for my Android phone. $35 invested.
found on their site put in for 6.0 and the edge evolution 11 with pod mount and probe included three tunes and gauges also check and read codes.and is reasonable.
thanks dlibson that's my thought alotta bang for buck with edge . having to stop to reprogram seems like it would be a pain.plus no gauges or probe with sct3
Shift on the fly programming doesn't allow the TCM to compensate for the extra power that is being delivered to the wheels. I can see it being "ok" if you drive real conservative, but jumping up a power level or two for towing would be a concern.
Back in the day I ran the Hyper-tech adjust on the fly tuning, the end result was a trashed trans.
the evolution is great for guages and reading codes. But if you want the advantage of shift on the fly this does not offer it you have to shut truck on off on off so on. I have one i strictly use it as guages though I installed it on 2 occasions and took it out right away felt like my transmission was going to be laying on the highway behind me.
Thanks for input built tough. I thought the new edge evolution was also on the fly but that not too big a deal for me. I basically saw the edge evo came with dash pod and egt probe in kit. My truck is stock not looking to hot rod it I use it for work and pull a 20 ft camper a lot so from what I've been told I need gauges to watch and to be able to read cels and turn them off.for the price seems like a steal.my bro has duramax with the older edge and loves it.it also can change shift points ect. So why so hard on your tranny.
