Coolant leak

My truck is leaking antifreeze. It appears to be coming from the big hose that is located above the front axle steering system. Anyways kind of hard to explain. I do have pictures. But it won't let me up load them from my iPhone onto the site ... Send me an email adress and ill send you a few pics. Thanks guys. Just need to know whether to replace the hose first or where to start

If I were you, the first think I would check is the water pump. Make sure it's not that first, and then you can go from there.

If it was the water pump wouldn't the truck be running at a higher temp? It seems to be running same temp. But loosing coolant. I put about a half gallon of coolant in the overflow tank to wiere the lines say "full cold" and a few weeks later there's only about 3/4 " of coolant ...

Go to autozone and rent a coolant pressure tester then pressurize the system and look for the leak

Only thing a leaky waterpump will do is leak, not raise temps unless you run out of water. It's right behind the fan on the front of the motor. There is a weep hole that leaks on it when bad.

If you can do what Mike said you'll find it, but you should be able to see it by looking close.

Are you selling your truck on craigslist with the problems listed or fixed? I saw it listed for $12k.

From your email pics, it LOOKS like its coming from the water pump. However, its real hard to tell from the pics. Try wiping off the coolant as good as you can and start it and crawl underneath and see if you can see where its leaking for sure.

Where at? Id like to look at it.
Im on the hunt for a CC again.

If you have those stupid clamps that arent tightened with a screw and are taken off with pliers/channel locks (brain fart on their name atm). you could have a weak one on that hose that feeds into the water pump on top. Not the radiator top hose that goes to Thermostat neck, but that smaller radius hose.
After I installed the coolant filter and had to take that top hose off. I put it back on and I had coolant leaking on the ground under the water pump. Pump was wet... scared me that my pump went out! turns out that clamp just wasnt tight enough to hold when operating on highway and such.
