how easy would it be to pull a 390 in a 76 and drop a 351w in place. Are the motor mounts different. And is there nething special to be done. And can a T-19 bolt up to a 351w.
The T-18 has an unsynchronized "granny" first gear. It was used in light trucks (F150-350) and meant to be started out in second gear for normal driving.
The T-19 has 4 synchronized gears, none of them a "granny" gear. It was used in "Box" trucks, school bus aps, and other medium trucks.
This i did on my first truck ever and all i had to do is use the motor mount's from a 79F150 2wd and changed the bell housing to fite the 302/351w and used the 2wd clutch and flywheel setup, and The exhuast I used flowtech shorty header's for a 85 F-250 and made up some custom exhuast, and my own 2 cent's I loved my 302 it did more trailer towing, snowplowing, and some 4wheeling and that babey never let me down,we took it out of the truck it was in and 8 yr's later it still power's a street worior/pro arena truck that we run.But back to the swap, not bad at all.
