Thrust washer front axil 2001 F250 4X4??
I just changed out my Front Wheel Bearing on a 2001 F250 4X4 Powerstroke and when I re-assembled it, I discovered that I could not replace ALL the original washers and install the clip ring on the end of the axil. From the Bearing outward... was a metal washer, a fiber octagon washer and another metal washer... then the clip ring. I was able to install the 1st metal washer and the clip ring. Also of note: My project also involved changing the ball joints and the 2 seals on the axil. I'm pretty sure the new seals were pressed on correctly. The Wheel Bearing Hub Assembly is aftermarket (made by SKF)... the question is: Will I cause damage by running with only the 1 washer and clip ring? And if I will: Why do I not have enough space to install all the washers? Thanks in advance.
