Column coupler replacement?

New here and new to forums in general. I am in the process of putting my steering column back on the truck. I put a 3" body lift on the truck to accommodate the new motor. But now I have to eliminate the column coupler since the steering shaft and steering box no longer line up. I am a little lost and wondering if anyone has any experience with this? Is it possible to use a double u joint in place of the column coupler. Thanks for the help!

Yes i believe it will work if you have the room to put it it. I replaced mine with a single one ,cost a little more but not much and it has a more firm feel to it. Plus it looks better than the rag joint i had . I have used the double joint building hot rods. It's okay until you go to a third one or more ,then you have to put in stabilizer bearings at each joint secured to the frame.

Our setups might be a bit different but I replaced the shaft and coupler on my f100 with this:

This consists of new u-joints, a telescope, and the forward yoke w/ female splines. Your local driveline shop can fabricate one for ya. There is an aftermarket shaft from borgeson that offers a massed produced version of this for about the same price ($250). I am biased but I think mine is better; its stronger and did not need further modification to install it. Either option is better than the coupler.

Hope this gives you some ideas.
