My sons Oct 2002 F-250 ESOF does not work. I replaced the vacuum seals last month, new orings, lubed the hubs and did a complete ESOF ops check and everything worked as it should. Now the transfer case will lock in Hi and Lo but not engage the front axle. Vacuum pump works but I don't have the 4X4 or low lock dash lights lit. Any ideas????
check your fuse's, 111,27, 19,13,28,17. i did all this all good. then unpluged at t-case then slamed it back on BINGO IT WORKES. my don't be right way but worked for me.
Performed a vacuum test with a gage and there are no leaks and I can manually lock the front hubs with my vacuum pump. I had already checked fuse's 111 & 19 with a fluke ohm meter. I will check the others in the am. I can hear the T-case lock into Hi and it will slip into low range, verfied by driving in Lo range. No dash lights for 4X4 at any time, even key on light check.
I bought a new Quigley and drove it from Maine to Montana. first snow got me all excited. no 4 wheel. great.
but mine is manual and still done engage. getting it rebuilt Dec 3rd. hoping I dont have to buy new hubs too.
oh what fun. my list is revolving it seems like. and these are no mods or upgrades. its making things run good before I do the other things.
mine in 4hi would not turn the front axle. 4 low did. and when I turned my hubs to lock they felt as if they were soft or not even engauging. makes me worried when I get to that point. first things first. transfer case for me
The ESOF relays are working and all the fuses are good. The transfer case goes into 4 Hi and 4 Lo and back to 2 WD just fine. The cluster lights for 4X4 and 4 Lo never iluminate at any time. Vacuum pump works but there is not a signal for the vacuum switch to work. I think it's the 4 WD module. Any other ideas???? 2003 7.3L Crew Cab
Hey not trying to hijack your thread here...where did you find the relays for the 4wd? I have been trying to find them on my 01. My truck will go into 4hi or 4 low but then wont come back out...
If your sitting in the drivers seat, on the left side of the master cyl. Remove the small plastic cover to expose the relays. It will be two identical relays. If you have trailer tow there will be another relay box with three relays and those three relays are trailer tow only. You want the two relay unit.
So are you saying, you have 4 wheel drive but no lights on the dash, or no 4 wheel drive and lights. There has been lights that burned out, and its a pain to replace them.
Replaced the 4X4 module under the dash (great fun) and the 4X4 lights on the dash will not illuminate nor will the front axle engage. The transfer case works, I can hear the t-case motor lock and unlock, ESOF system. Any ideas???

I have vacuum to the PVH solenoid, but I don't believe it's getting a signal to function. I was under the impression the signal came from the 4X4 module, and I put a new one in, but that didn't work as planned. Didn't make a difference. This is not my 01 it's my son's 7.3 03. Relays work fine.
