Lighted Awning

Here is a picture of the lighted awning that is a new feature on our KZ Stoneridge.

Nice feature

That's a great idea. No tacky extension cords to deal with, and nothing to remove when the wind forces you to roll up the awning.

I bet you could do the same thing with the LED tape rolls... You could even change the colors

LOVE it !
self contained and light is out away from the door so bugs are less likely to get into rv,

now all you need to do is tell us how to retrofit it !!!!

Does it have a separate 'day time' switch ?
thinking it is an led strip, but not knowing how power goes to the awning... much less the lights !

does it come from the awning end caps ? or run out via an extension cord of some type?

Well a couple of things I do know about it.

It is powered via a switch beside the awning switch. So you can power it or not.

Power is run down the inside seam of the fabric on the front side. It comes out right beside the same connection used for the TV right at the front of the trailer. So you cannot notice it at all. So the power is fed in through the end cap closest to the front of the trailer.

The drum has the LED's integrated in it. Recessed into the drum. I would assume it is a tape that is run out and into the drum.

So probably easy enough to run the power out and thread the wire for power down the awning. But the recessed lights into the drum so you can just leave it there is another story. Awning is made by CareFree so I would think you could retro fit it.

I cant say how broght these are, but they shouldn't affect how the awning rolls up...

I would think those could fit the build pretty good. I suppose you could tape them to the drum and just roll it up?
