I just put new front brakes including calipers on my 79 f-250 4x4 ,I have no idea what shape the rears are in but if I make a hard stop the rears will lock up. It seems that the fronts are working just not as much as they should. I was very carefull to blead the fronts after they were installed. Any body Any thoughts
you need to check the rears the brakes on a truck are a system .
The axle seals could be leaking in the rear causing it to lock up .
Check out the rear and post what you find . See if they are over adjusted - the springs in the back get old and fatigued and should be replaced along with the wheel cylinders
Do you have a brake warning light on?
Check the buld to make sure it isnt blown.
Do you have a haynes manual?- you should get one and read it ,it will explain a lot !
Well I pulled the rear drums and they are as dry as a bone. (very slight galze) Allthough they look like theres still a little life left I will go ahead and replace them including wheel cyl. and hardware.
