Don't waste your money buying aftermarket parts if you want quality, get NOS (new old stock) whenever you can.
I got two 6x9 mirrors from LMC, they lasted about 2 years before the chrome started pitting/peeling (and this is with the same wash/wax frequency I used with the originals which lasted 25 years). Then I found NOS mirrors at Greens Sales (there is a parts search site where you plug in the OEM part numbers and it tells you who has them). I could tell right off the NOS mirrors where a much higher quality. These have been on my truck now for a couple of years and still look like new. Mind you, they cost like $90-100 a piece (depending on who you buy from). I guess it all depends on how long you plan to keep your truck.
Good luck.

I noticed that some I saw on Ebay were..Plastic !!..I've bought from Green Sales..I'll check. If anyone has used another make..or model..let me know. I used Monte Carlo on my '66 truck....and mounted the buttons for the door poppers on the bottom. Never had to replace a button in 15 years..j

Thanks for the compliment. I don't have a build thread as I built this truck (a little at a time over the past 20-years) before i discovered this forum. My latest project with this truck has been "building up" the engine.

I have some photos in the "garage" (click on my avatar).

If you want details or have questions, i'd be happy to provide more info.

Jerry - Wish you'd brought this up a couple of weeks ago as I believe I have a good set of mirrors. Could have brought them on Wed. But, we'll talk about it then if you haven't located some others.

The mirrors as shown on that truck at last check were still available direct from Ford. They were used all the way up to through the OBS trucks.

I guess I should have been a bit more clear. Those big mirrors are what I have now. I want the small kind....like the cars have...that mount on the door. I see them in LMCs catalog..but some of their quality seems suspect..In any case...see you WEDNESDAY...J
