Don't know if this is a good idea or not, but,,,,if it's an Edge like mine, the torsion bars might be able to be dropped, and then rearched springs in the rear. Maybe someone with more experience than I might chip in.
The rwd Ranger scab with the edge package, according to specs I have, sits as high as 4x4 of the same model. It has torsion bar front suspension, opposed to coils like most Rangers. In my very distant past,we used to take our Mopar muscle cars and drop the torsion bars a bit, and could get a few inches of height on the front end. I even had a POS chebby luv truck, that I did the same thing.
I don't know how much you can drop the bars on an Edge, or if even that's what you have. But if it is, it might be worth looking into. If that's the way you choose to go, a front end alignment would be order, as well as realigning the steering wheel.
Just went back and see you have an XLT, so I guess that ideas out. Sorry.
