I saw this Expedition up on Craigslist and me and my dad thought it must be rare as the 4.6L V8 I didn't see very many of them with 4x4 especially in this body style. I prefer the 4.6L and have to have 4x4 and love this body style but when we got our 97 Expedition I had just figured there was no 4.6L 4x4 in this body style.
Here is the Craigslist link: 04 ford expedition 4x4
so is this a rare combonation or what?

So far i have had my f250 5.4.. for about 3 years this feb or jan.. gave me absolutely no problems.. i changed the spark plugs about 10k ago.. no problems yet
well we had a 2006 Ford F150 and it was problems all day long no matter what. Especially the transmission. It might have been the reason the truck was in an accident but I don't know. We have the V10 in our 02 F250 which is the same as the 5.4l just 2 more cylinders and it is doing great. Like I said it might have been because fo the accident. Anyways back on topic.

The 4.6 is a great engine, just a bit underpowered for a 6,000 lb. truck that might have to actually do some work once in a while. Trucks are mainly a guy thing and we all know that bigger is better, especially in our cars and trucks engine bay. An over worked under powered small engine will give worse gas mileage than a correctly sized engine with the same work load. There are more 5.4 powered trucks in your area because the dealers probably didn't stock them when they were new. That way they didn't sell but a few and had fewer customer complaints about being sold an underpowered truck in the first place.
Well we got the 4.6L also because of it being my mom's truck. We have 9 vehicles and 5 of them are trucks. Thanks for the response also I was just curious.

I got an 04 with a 4.6 expedition its awesome, the wife loves it. Ive seen a few 4x4 4.6 expos there out there just not popular like the 5.4l. As far as being under power yeah they are, but a cold air intake and new performance exhaust helps out a bit.
