Valve Covers
The chrome valve covers have 2 holes in the top.
I will put a pcv valve in the passenger cover, should I put a cap vented to atmosphere on the driver side, or a cap that vents to manifold vacume?

Right valve cover: Rubber grommet twists into hole, smog valve fits into grommet, hose routes from valve to nipple on carb spacer plate.
Left valve cover: Oil cap has a nipple made as part of it, hose routes from nipple to elbow on air cleaner.
Cap was available in chrome (with/without the engine "dress-up" kit) or painted black.

Not sure about california but the other states had a draft tube on 352's in 1965.
I do not think even the california 1966 352's had a hose from breather to air cleaner. Surely the other states did not.
F100/F250
ND, what ever happened with your 5.0 F150? Remember how bad you said the ecoboost engine's would be, turbo's would never last etc. What made you buy one?

How do you know this?

My 1965 F100 had it, so why wouldn't a 1966?
Surely the other states did not.

Here again, you're making a statement you cannot back up...unless you know, for sure, what the other 49 states emissions requirements were. I don't know, and I was a Ford partsman back then.
Troll thru illustration section 66.3, notice the oil caps with nipples, the oil baths with nipples made as part of them for the PCV hose from cap, what my '65 F100 352 came with.

OP asked about PCV routing. If a 1965 F100/350 352 came with PCV, it didn't have a road draft tube in the right valve cover, because this is where the smog valve is installed.
Road draft tube listed (6758) in the parts catalog for 1965 352, but it's not listed for 1966 or later.

Stripper Escape S comes with 2.5L, Escape SE comes with 1.8L Eco as standard equipment, 2.0L Eco optional.
I didn't want a stripper, didn't want the upscale Titanium model either due to moon roof which cuts down on headroom.
5 year powertrain warranty: I doubt I'll have it 5 or even 3 years. I buy something new every one or two years.
F150 went away after 21 months with 7,100 miles on the clock, because it had become ergonomically undesireable.
btw: Ever see a 1966 F100 240/300/352 with a smog pump (basic number 9A486)? Mandatory in sold new CA F100's.

Not saying impossible but show me a pic. surely if you bought it new you have some underhood pics?

I have not seen a SINGLE 1965 F100-350 with a 352 that had smog. All the original ones I have seen had a breather tube. I am not arguing the fact or saying california 352's had a breather tube but believe other states did. In fact I own a 1965 non-california that has a breather tube.
I am surely open here what had what but everything I have seen indicates as above.
Look at ANY air cleaner for a 65-66 352 and none of those seem to have a nipple for hose to breather. I do have a 1966 F100 300 air cleaner and it DOES have the nipple.
So if you owned your truck for 30+ yrs then restored it I would like to see a pic of breather or air cleaner or even smog.
For some reason there does not appear to be a pic of the 65-66 352 Air Cleaner assy in the parts illustrations.
Edit add: I did find a pic of a 1966 F 352 Air Cleaner and breather with hose but nothing for 1965. Appears to be a california only thing for 1966.
