Fuel Leak

Hey y'all, I'm coming from the 7.3 forum page but am looking to solve a fuel leak in my buddys 6.0 that just started. Im not too familiar with the 6.0s but when your standing in the front looking in there is 2 caps. One is fairly big right in the center of the motor. Im guessing its the oil filter if I'm correct. Just to the right of that and a little forward is another. Looks to be the fuel bowl and or filter element. Looks small for a filter but like i said I'm guessing thats it.

So where the small cap is which I'm assuming is the filter thats where the fuel leak is. If ur looking from the front of the truck in its coming from the forward right side. There looks to be some type of cover there with 2 #20 torx bit screws holding that cover on. Its leaking from the top of that cover leaking down the side and landing on the t-stat housing. Its not the cap leaking as i wiped it clean and found no leak.

So whats the fix ? Im guessing new orings for that cover but want to consult y'all first on the topic and see what y'all suggest.

My stupid reading skills!!!

The cover on the front is where the fuel pressure regulator is. Needs new o-rings like you say.

Also, while in there fixing it, might as well upgrade the fuel pressure spring. "Blue Spring Mod" This is an up grade Ford put out.

http://www.riffraffdiesel.com/category/F601-OEM.html

You can get a kit with or without a new cover.

Do not use the handy half inch ratchet square to remove cap, they tend to brake!

And, there is another fuel filter under the driver side door mounted on the frame rail. If he hasn't changed them when they should, might as well pick up the set from Riffraff also.

Here are some instructions:

How to take out the air filter: (remove dip stick to keep from braking it accidently)

Keeps higher fuel pressure to injectors which prevents injector damage.

Ighty, just looked at Clays site and seen the kit.

One other question...... Y'all have a water fuel separator drain valve ? I imagine so where is it located.

Yep... Located on the horizontal filter housing under the drivers door... On the frame rail. There is an upgraded plug for it to, which is highly recommended. Your ford dealer will have it for about $14.
