After 11 years, I'll have a F150 again. Buying a 2013 F150 STX regular cab with a 5.0, & 3.31 E locker. I'll probably be visiting this forum a lot more often now. Usually I'm in the Super Duty Forum, because I have 2 550's.

3;31s not a good towing choice but awesome for mileage
My F550's are great for towing. I have 2 small trailers for the F150, both no more than 1500#. It will mostly be used for running around town empty, with a few road trips and occasional trailers. Mileage should be great with the little trailers!

oh sorry i miss read your keeping the 550's well enjoy your new ride
I had a 2000 Lightning I bought new, and this truck is just a bit slower stock for stock. It's as close as you can get to a gen 2 Lightning these days. It's very well equipped for the money. I got 23% off sticker. It looks exactly like this one: http://www.grandprairieford.com/new/...0258fab4ba.htm
BTW, I used this ad to negotiate another $2K off the sales price. The ad above is a GREAT price!
Eight years ago I worked for a collision repair shop where our shop run around truck was a 2000 Lightning. The owner a very well- heeled guy had bought the lightning for his daughter who had turned 16 but was afraid to drive it lol, would have liked to have had that problem when I was 16.
Anyway, I agree with how powerful these new F-150's are, I,ve got an '11 SuperCab 5.0, 3.55 gears, 2wd and having spent hours and many miles in that 2000 Lightning, I can't tell a difference between the way my 5.0 accelerating 0-60 .Vs the Lightning. Even the mean stock exhaust sound is similar. One thing for sure you can put regular fuel in the 5.0 and the mpg's are so much better on top of that. Only thing I miss is that all so cool supercharger whine.
Congrats you will love that truck, I wou ld have got a reg cab myself but I have two small kids.
The trading dealer sold this one, so now it will be the same truck with 3.55 Limited slip. $400 extra because they have to go 400 miles to get it. Oh well, at least I get exactly what I wanted (3.55's) to begin with.
still get the locker? I used mine lots in regina today. they still have a good layer of snow and ice on the streets and the trac control kept cutting my power off! put the locker on and no more troubles!
