No, it's a remote speaker, that you plug into the aux and pa jacks on the back of the radio. As you speak into the mic, you can hear yourself thru the remote speaker. They rally are useful when you're trying to set your mic gain up so others can understand what you're saying.

in the south we call them a echo box up north they call them talk back box but its all the same thing i think!
