I have no idea what you are talking about? An echo box perhaps?
No, it's a remote speaker, that you plug into the aux and pa jacks on the back of the radio. As you speak into the mic, you can hear yourself thru the remote speaker. They rally are useful when you're trying to set your mic gain up so others can understand what you're saying.
in the south we call them a echo box up north they call them talk back box but its all the same thing i think!

Nope, nope, two different things. I think. Echo is a "feature" installed in the radio itself. Most of us hate it, and I for one, will just ignore anyone with it on their radio. After banging around for years in high noise environments, my hearing has suffered, and any sort of extra noise makes it even more difficult to understand. [ I can hear you, but I can't understand you].Talk back is remote from the radio, all in it's own little box, it's just a fancy little remote speaker.
I'll try to do a search later on, unless someone beats me to it.
