Oil pan gasket, HPOP, HP oil line, LPOP, or the oil cooler. It's a random guess but it's probably one of those.

Just left Diesel Innovations. Front seal of the lpop and the seals or something on the oil cooler, in the front of the truck behind a damper. Plus my coolant bottle is cracked.

I love going to that shop though, I snapped a few pics. My truck fails big time in comparison parked right next to his wife's 700 hp daily grocery getter.

Going up! That David in the front, lifiting my truck. His wife walking to him on the left.

Lpop leak. One of three leaks.

Backing out, old boy behind the wheel.

And my truck parked next his wife's bad azz 700+ hp of pure 7.3 terror.

And the remnants of Snow White, the fastest 7.3 in the world.

Snow White in her hay day.

He's got such a cool shop!

If it's the LPOP, get yourself a Melling M208 at Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts. Much better than the stocker...

If he ends up having to replace the oil cooler, now might be a good time to switch to an ELC and get yourself a new degas bottle. Bite the bullet and get it from the dealer, take it from me...

Everything works, just leaks. For now I won't be replacing anything other then the degas bottle and some seals.

He did mention that degas bottle, whatever it is.

The degas bottle is the, probably yellowing, bottle that wraps around the passenger side of the fan shroud. It holds excess coolant. Some people call it a coolant overflow bottle, although its function is a little different as it also has the pressure release cap, in stead of it being on the radiator.

As mentioned above, if you have to open up the coolant system, it would be a great time to go in and flush out the gold and replace with ELC and new cooling system components. ELC has many benefits over Ford gold, unfortunately cost is not one of them. Although I understand some people have gotten ELC for very near the price of Ford gold. I have not been so lucky.

Did you find out what the leak was? I had the top right corner of my HPOP lid with a hairline crack that was leaking oil (near the alternator). It was a casting flaw. What a pain in the ****.

Say Howdy to David and Double-D (his wife's online username, guess why...). They're good people. Dave knows his stuff, and when he fixes it, it will be done right. Maybe not the cheapest...but right. Then again, when done wrong, it ain't cheap either.
