ok well I tried uploading the pictures for you but it wouldnt let me save them or get the image location.
So heres what you do..... Get an account on a online photo sharing website (Photobucket is my choice) and save your pictures on to there. Once the pictures are saved right click on each photo and select "Copy Image Location". Mow open FTE and in the top of the reply box is a little yellow landscape picture. open that past the link in and walah! You got yourself a picture. It will end up like this......... You can re size it too!
Numberdummy would you please go to my album and look at the pictures of the steering wheel/column in my truck. It both tilts and telescopes.
I think my turn signal switch is bad but I have no idea how to get to it on this column.
Looked at the album pics, have no idea what the steering wheel is from, so I cannot ID the column.
Ford offered a 3 spoke "sport" steering wheel for 1977/79 cars, 1978/79 F100/350's, Bronco's and Econolines, but this isn't it.
Spokes have holes in them, horn blows via the cap. No telescopic steering wheel (edit column) for trucks until 2009.
Separate handle to operate tilt wheel, telescopic feature works off center emblem. Only setup like this that I'm aware of was used by Cadillac, other GM cars.
Telescopic steering wheel on 1966/70's Cadillac's, other GM cars. Move the emblem, wheel comes straight out of the column, column itself doesn't telescope.
And that appears to be what this wheel does. Notice tilt feature operated by separate lever. First FoMoCo vehicle to have separate tilt wheel lever: 1981 Escort, introduced in 1992 F150/350's, Bronco's.
Tilt/telescopic steering columns: 2008 Fusion, 2011 F150 Lariat had one, as does new 2013 Escape. All operate manually by lever below (underneath) wheel on steering column.
Pull lever down, then column can be moved up/down, in/out / Escape (surrounded by Super Duty's), big dummy (red shirt) in 11/17/2012 FTE SoCal Chapter gtg pics (Battleship USS IOWA).
When you acquired the truck, was wheel/column in place? I going to assume so.
1978 was the first year FoMoCo offered a tilt wheel for F100/350's, Bronco's and Econolines. Thru 1991, tilt feature works off the turn signal handle by pressing it forward, ditto all 1965/80 Passenger Car tilt wheels.

Yes it was in there when I got the truck, there are a lot of non original parts on this truck. I guess I will try to figure out how it comes apart.
Thanks again for looking, If I figure out what it is from I will let you know.
I was wondering if it was maybe a 70's corvette, as they had tilt/telescopic(before I even saw the pictures). After seeing the pics, it's not Corvette. Looks more "60's ish" then anything newer? I wonder if there is a badge under the Ford oval in the horn button?
Brady, I am pretty sure that thing is the cause of most of my problems. You should see the mess of wiring under the dash.
if you don't want it when you cut it out send it my way i would find something to do with it I'm sure. it just looks too cool and is from JCPenny which just adds to the interesting/cool factor. ill pay postage.
