Dear God Hellwig

Struggling to install this freaking bar. I have never seen instructions so completely useless in my entire life. These make ikea instructions look amazing. thin washer heavy washer....shockingly good and detailed. I'm about ready to throw this thing in the trash at this point. I've had every washer on and off at least 5 times and am still no closer finishing. I have 4 nuts that I have no idea what to do with. A little diagram with some arrows and part numbers and this would be done.

I just get links to this site, and I see no mention on any extra parts anywhere here.

Sounds like you need photos of an installed bar. Anybody out there have pictures they can post up of an installed hellwig? Or take some and post them?

I'm just lost too many different parts with no indication where they go. I thought I had it, now not so much.

Its been awhile since I put mine together but it didn't give me too much hassle.

I had heard from others about the instructions being worthless so right from the start I did not even use them. What I did was put out all the pieces and organized them by type and size. Then I made a guess as to which pieces should go with each area of install. For example if I had four washers of a specific size and thickness then I set those aside to be used with the end links to the sway bar.

Here is a picture of what my final setup looks like. I am not 100% that its correct but it works and has not fallen off. The only part I know is not correct on mine is the top part of the drivers side end link where you need to have the bolt going through the bracket for the brake line.

Welcome! So been there done that, came inside frustrated and got on FTE and someone helped me figure it out, before I hurt myself, broke something, or resorted to large volumes of alcohol! Just returning the favors.

All installed. Thanks so much sammie I wish I had posted when I first started to get annoyed I ended taking everything apart again and putting the parts where they seemed like they should go. I still have 4 nuts and 2 washers, but I'll call them extra parts.

This is what it looks like now.

Good job....

I had a few parts left over and I ended up doubling up on some of the nuts as I didn't seem to have enough locking nuts.

As I mentioned I didn't read the instructions and I messed up on the drivers side end link install.

The instructions say on step 6...
6. On the drivers side, remove the emergency brake cable bracket. Reattach it by threading the bracket through our
end link mounting hardware. Add an extra nut to this end link to mount the bracket. SEE PHOTO (3).

Add an extra nut seems weird but I think that is one of the confusing parts of the install and is probably not necessary.

Did you add that extra nut?
