92 Super Duty Steering Components
Seems to make a big difference in cost.
The passenger side end is worn out and appears to thread into the link but the parts guy says I have to buy the entire assembly.
One parts house calls it an inner and another calls it an outer.
Got to fix it soon as it's eating up tires.
if so,it's probably just best to change them all at once, since you'll need a front end alignment after the job.if you replace only whats bad right now, then the others fail shortly after, then you'll have them anyway and pay for another alignment.
if you can only afford to do whats needed, then you don't have much choice of course, but it's something to consider if you plan on keeping the truck.
Seems premature to me, the rubber boot has been cracked for a long time though.
The damn thing has no grease fittings so , yeah the others will eventually fail but, a twenty year old truck with this mileage, it's going to be a long time before the other ends need replacing.
So, back to the original question, does anyone have a parts breakdown for the front end on this truck?
