Ok not my first and probably not my last, I was half way home to my new house " No Shop and No Tools There Yet " and my belt started to squeal. So i pull in and coolant is every where. I Did a search on all the pumps, aftermarket and oem as well as the IH from navstar. I don't have the time to order anything as i need my truck tomm evening and saturday for some towing.
I checked with the stealer ship BOOOOOM $270 for a oem, hahaha Wish Clay were from here LOL.
So i got a NAPA, Advanced Auto Parts, O'Rillys, Auto Zone, and Car Quest. Can any one recommend a good brand from either of these suppliers that is some what decent.
Napa & Carquest will likely carry the same stuff. Napa has cheap and expensive versions usually. They will also likely offer both new and rebuilt. Autozoo and Oreilly will likely just have cheap rebuilts. We don't have any advance auto's near me yet, so no comment on them.
The real question is, who has what in stock. Time to let your fingers do the walking and see what's in stock for a quick turn around.
Thanks Chris, i can't remember but i think i did my last one in 2009 or 2010, I was hoping i could catch it weeping and have time to to order the Nav IH or at least a stocker "oem". Do you think a rebuilt or new one ? Its about 40$ between the two. ?
I did new from Orielly, about 8k ago. So far so good. I know time is against you but a great time to flush and do ELC if you wanted.
You will have to rent a tool for taking off the fan clutch.
Got the pump and everything from napa today, New pump not reman. everything went well except for a squeaky belt which I'm trying to resolve. Started another thread on that already.
