What is the real difference between an F-250 and F-350 ?

I'll just toss this out in the "for what it's worth catagory".
From past conversations directly with factory engineers, I was told that vehicle weight ratings may not be based on axles, tires, etc. They can be based on any component in the drive train, so it is not uncommon that axle ratings do not equate with vehicle weight ratings.
Again having more to do with warranty perhaps.

"so it is not uncommon that axle ratings do not equate with vehicle weight ratings."
Hence, the original validation from senix above.
In this case , "based on any component in the drive train" doesn't apply as it's a trailer... unless it's got an engine too?
However, I would truly expect that reputable trailer mfg's would only install axles that would meet or exceed the loads designed and rated, for those axles. Whether it's a legal requirement or not may only be my assumption.
