When I took off the right side exhaust manifold, there were several things on the stud on the #2 exhaust runner. They were:
heat shield (1)
nut
nut
plenum support
smog pump line support

I don't remember what order they were in when I took them off. Who knows what order the last four items go on the stud? I've filled in number 1...

 

Ric, I don't know for sure, but this is my guess.
1. heat shield
2. nut
3. plenum support
4. smog pump line support
5. nut

A nut should go on after the heat shield, and the other nut goes on last. That leaves only two choices left (3 & 4), and line supports usually go on last.......

 

Sounds reasonable. After trying a few combos, things got kinda hazy 'round midnight.

I should have the thing back together tonight.

Ck the 5.8 and notice that the shield and afasteners at that location (on the exhaust) is same as for the 5.0.
