Hello all. I have a 1999 EB Explorer 4.0 SOHC with 225,000 miles. The transmission gave up the ghost. No reverse, No Drive, if I put it into 1 or 2, It will go for a few yards (enough to trailer it). It has some sun damaged paint, some rust on the roof, and the usual collection of dents and dings. The interior is pretty good (no rips in the leather, sound system is good, windows all work, no leaks, etc.)
My question is this: What would be a fair price to ask for it as is? I don't want to put another $1000 or more (for a used tranny) into it, and a trade in is just wasting my time. Edmunds and KBB won't rate a car in this "poor" mechanical & cosmetic condition.
I think it would be a great weekend hunting/camping/ boat tow vehicle, if someone wants to put a bit of $$ into it, just for a runaround truck.
Any advice is appreciated. You guys and gals rock!
