i have a 92 eddie bauer star with premium sound system with equalizer. i'm upgrading to an aftermarket system and was told there's a tray that replaces the equalizer and i'm wondering if it's a seperate piece from the trim piece that covers the radio, vents etc. ?
There's a little velvet-lined box that fits into the hole where the equlalizer goes. I think it needs a couple of clips behind it to screw into. And there may be some side-mounted fasteners for the EQ that you will have to remove.
yes, it is a removable plastic cubby box held by four 7mm machine screws. the inside is sprayed with a velvety material similar to the inside of the glove box or the passenger seat drawer.
That inside material is actually called flocking. Its made by taking electro-staticley charged fibers and spraying them onto a surface that is covered with glue. It looks nice and helps hold things so they don't slide around.
awsome, i'll start looking for one at the junkyard. does anyone know where to find something like this if my local junkyard doesn't have one ? i live in lexington ky. and there's only 1 junkyard thats worth anything.
I'm interested in the eq just for the heck of it, I'll find you a cubby box, it attaches with the same 4 screws as the EQ. I will need the complete wiring harness from the EQ to the Radio. Wanna trade?
