HELP!!! wires to coil
truck: 77 f100 w/inline six
Hey guys. i'm in a bad mood. my truck is closer to running than ever before...except for when it used to. long story short, i thought the piston rings were gone, parked it, then decided it might just be the pcv valve. however, i was halfway through pulling the engine, quit, now i'm going the other direction. today i bought a new battery and starter (you may remember from the 73-79 forum i was having trouble getting any power). well, the engine cranks, doesn't fire. i checked the spark via screwdriver in the wires against the valve cover, spark plug, and oil cap, no luck. there was some confusion when we hooked up the coil as to which wire went on which side so.....do you guys know if the red wire goes on the side towards the engine or the fender? thanks so much...i'm headed to virginia for the summer in two days and REALLY want to take this truck along. any advice will be taken gladly.
p/s after how many pumps of the accelerator w/no fuel in the carb. should i assume i've got something plugged???
