I've posted before but on the Ranger forum. I just picked up my 2000 X and I'm so excited.
I want to add an exhuast sytem in. I don't want to spend a ton of money either. I want a nice throaty sound but not so load that I can't hear my family when we are driving. Not that sometimes that would be a bad thing. I was thinking of going with the single Gibson coming out where the factory tip comes out. Will this give me the sound and performance I'm looking for. I'm looking at the performance products catalog (*******************.com) and I see i can get it for $312.00. Does anyone know of any other sites where i can get them for maybe a better price? Also is this something i can do myself. I'm not new to doing work on my vehicles.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks 203008581 for the responce. In Ma. I don't think a shop will install a system for 300 dollars. You couldn't get a factory system installed for that price.
Maybe I didn't post the questions correct. I'm looking for a system that will give me a throaty sound and that can be done by myself. The Gibson I mention looks like it can be done at home. I'm looking for a brand that will work like Borla or Gibson etc....
dan, i don't think you'll like the gibson if you are looking for throaty. i've had the gibson, and spintech on mine, and the gibson was so close to stock, that untill you saw the dual pipes, you couldn't tell it from factory. the spintech was loud, and imho a bit obnoxious inside the truck.
I was waiting for you to reply Monsta. What to busy enjoying the Hawaii sun. We've have nothing but rain in Ma. I wasn't able to open that wav file. So does putting in the flow 40 give a nice sound but make it so you can hear yourself inside? Where did you pick up the muffler?
Thanks again.

HAHA yeah...a bit too busy laying in the sun...
Why couldn't you open the file?
You do not even know you have a FM on when you're up to cruising speed +40mph. You can hear yourself inside at all RPM levels.
I've got a flowmaster 50 RV series (I call it the Winnebago muffler) on my V10, it is VERY close to stock , if you want to really hear it you might go with a 40. I'm too cheap to to it again.
