Hey guys. Wanted to see if anyone had any advice for me on my misfire problem. I've got a 92 Bronco with the 351w and E4OD. I can drive it all summer long with no issues, but once the temperature starts dropping outside I develop a bad misfire that's gotten worse over the years. It stalls pretty quickly at startup, and usually takes at least 10 minutes to start running smoothly when its in the 30s outside.
Changing out my plugs and wires usually helps, but doesn't completely eliminate the miss. I've changed my distributor cap and am about to replace the rotor and the fuel filter. Also plan to clean out the EGR, IAC, TPS, and throttle body. Considering back flushing the cooling system as well. Air filter is clean.
Pretty sure my cats are clogged from all the misfiring as well.
The transmission also takes awhile to warm up, which seems odd to me since it is just over a year old. The bucking from the miss and rough shifting have really taken a toll on my driveline.
My temperature gauge always reads a little below normal, even in the summertime, ever since I replaced my old thermostat.
I'm also considering checking on my injectors. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Oh and last year it checked out fine on the tailpipe sniffer and didn't throw any codes despite having a slight miss from not being completely warmed up.
