1986 owners help please!

I would really like to get my dash put back together here soon, my problem is my air doesn't blow out of the face vents, everything seems to be in place except for an A/C vacuum reservoir as it is called on LMC truck. It's seeming more and more like 86 was a ******* year for these trucks because 87 is completely different with a climatiser dryer and all sorts of things changed. Does anyone have an 86 with a picture of the plastic ball in the engine bay and where it is hooked up to??? Also does Number 21 in this diagram look like what i would need??? Any help please i can't find any at the junkyard even close so yall are my last resort!
Truck Parts and Truck Accessories

Here is the link to that diagram hopefully. If not it's page 52

The plastic ball "reservoir" i'm talking about is in the engine bay, passenger side, in the corner closer to the firewall if i'm not mistaken, does yours have this??

Vent selectors are not working on my truck either, but it does have the ball and iirc it's still hooked up. I'll check it out when I get home from work in the morning. My problem is no heat on the feet, and very little on the windshield

From what i've been told that has to do with your vent selector door thing, on your passenger side floorboard find the vent that the air comes out of for the feet, should be easy to see, if your hands are small enough, mine were, reach a few fingers up inside and feel around while you move the selector switch, if something is blocking it you'll know, other than that it may be something with the cables all jacked up. Where does your ball hook to????

EDIT!: Can anyone tell me what the daggone ball or canister hooks up to?! haha, i have heard the can is used for the trucks with cruise control, so i jacked one of those from the junkyard thinking that would work the same way, if it will i'll just use that but all these answers are conflicting hah, the coffee can only has one nipple for a tube on it.

Ill take pictures of the actuators that operate the doors and directionals of the vents and the coffee can... each actuator has a vacuum line hooked up to it.

Okay thanks, it's just confusing trying to mozy around the jy looking for my year truck and seeing what's supposed to be where, it seem severything was moved around after '86. My truck has a hose that goes through the firewall that isn't attatched to anything, and runs up into the face vents. I'm sure that's supposed to be attatched to either that plastic ball or coffee can, im thinking the ball, but i have been told there is another hose that runs from the ball somewhere else. On my firewall about the center of it there is a plastic piece with hoses going into it and or with rubber caps over the nipples, they are all plugged except maybe 1 or 2 i can't recall, i would figure if there was something missing it wuldn't be capped like it came frmo the factory or something? idk? just lemmee know! haha

In 86 the AC trucks had vacuum operated system, non ac were cable operated. All the reservoir does is keep the vents from changing positions under WOT when the vacuum drops off. It will work without it as long as you have no leaks. Make sure you have vaccum to the selector switch.

how do i check for that?
Also i'm still unsure as to how the FACE vents would even get air considering there's a hose clearly going to those vents hanging through the firewall not attached to anything. Is there just something that is in the cab that blows air up to the vents? I don't see how this hose has nothing to do with it.
