Where can I get a nice looking bar kit to hang some lights on? When I was younger we'd call em roll bars but it looks like the lawyers fixed that so now they call em bed bars.
I've been looking around for a while now and the only thing I find is from Go Rhino and then I'm not sure if I like the style or where that's even made. I'm just probably not looking in the right places.
I'm want a double loop with a single kicker bar that mount next to the bed and terminates about center wheel well. I want chrome or stainless because I like shiney stuff and my wife likes to help me polish. I'm eventually looking to mount about 4 big ole day lighters on top. There a nice looking one on my inspiration truck that I've made into my wallpaper on my 40" monitor. Maybe it's an FTE member's?
I've found a few custom bar makers but they are not selling anything chrome or stainless.
How about some some sources? Better yet, post up your pics with what you got.
Good luck. Your best bet is to hit the wrecking yards till you find one that fits, or have one made. The in bed dimentions of our trucks is different enough to not fit most roll bars. I got lucky and found mine in a pick n pull yard.
A roll bar huh, they're right up there with moon visors and fender flares, more of a 70's era motif...... where's Farah Fawcett and the Starsky & Hutch Torino
The pick-n-pull/salvage yard/junk yard is your best bet for that relic....

There is an outfit that does custom build high quality 3" tube show bars, in many different hoop and kicker leg styles. And they design and make them for the specific year, make, model and bed style. They will even do an "old school" look if you want...Got any old photos of the roll bar style you want? -- they can help..
The thing to watch for when buying a roll bar for a dent, is the angled part of the bed where the gas filler is.
If you have a welder, u can modify stuff, but i dont have one, lol.

Having a welder opens up a world of possibilities... No longer will you be beholden to what the market or aftermarket produces.
Well, I have a welder but its an el-cheapo Lincoln and my skillz are not quite show quality if you know what I mean. I'm wanting the Chrome look and finally found a source from Go Rhino. Summit Racing's prices:
Light bar (polished SS) for mounting Lights $159.97
Bed Bar (Rear) $379.97
Bed Bar (Front) $309.97
Single Kicker Bar $239.97 (these mount over the fender wells)
(2) 130W KC Daylighters $155.97
Total: $1245.85
Expensive blingy stuff. I have a compressor plus tires I need to buy before I can spring for that.
I have seen some coating that looks very much like Chrome and that opens up the possibilities of getting something fabed up but its likely that adding the coating process on top of that will make it more expensive.
HAVING a welder can cause more trouble than good. However, knowing how to use it properly is a great asset.
And that's why it takes practice and practical experience. I call it "skill building" over time... starting with little projects like brackets, accessories, body work, all before jumping into the deep end like custom suspension, tube frames, etc.
