Well, Goterdun. Been reading some of the veterans posts for some time. Have desired a dpf delete since I bought my 2009 new. Unfortunately, I had lived in an area that had emissions testing & didnt want to delete/reinstall yearly. I now live in a county that doesnt require
Anyways, I bought an XRT Pro, & CAT/DPF delete. I was a little worried about installing this myself. Well.... I must say, it wasnt that bad. It aint the easiest thing in the world to do however, I did it in my driveway in about 3hrs. Over half the time was screwing with one bolt..!
Im curious to see how my mpg is changed. Economy & longevity of my engine was a determining factor for this install. I dont mind some extra power but, have been happy with my truck stock with the exception of the regen.
I have to say that this forum certainly encouraged me to do this. Doubt I would've ever deleted without reading about it here. So..... no more regens for me Thanks Guys...!
Yep!!! But tell us how it sounded to you the first time you started it without the DPF. That alone made the work worth doing for me. Then there is the first time you stick your foot in it. Oh, yeah.
For future deleter's, the best way is to use two swivels on a short extension off of a drill. Clearance for a ratchet makes for a long time to remove it.
I used one long 3/8 extension with a universial. The trick was to have a very good universial. I went and got a new craftsman because the 5 or 6 I had were all worn or wobbly. There was a hole through the frame I used to get at the bolt. Once I finally figured all that out getting the bolt out was easy.
i did my delete on Friday, it took me about 2 hrs... i took it down in once piece cat+DPF together. Didn't have to screw around with the DPF to cat bolts. For me what took the longest was getting the DPF out of the muffler pipe. The thing was rusted in there pretty good. But once I had it out, it was smooth sailing from there. that assembly is one heavy SOB.
I've noticed my MPG has already gotten better... went from about 20L/100KM to 15L/100KM which is the same as going from 12MPG to 16MPG
OP, can you post where you bought your setup? website?
He didn't post but you can find all the stuff either on ebay or just google DPF delete or F350 tuner or diesel speed shops. There are hundreds of places selling the equipment.

I just spoke with 2 shops in my area that say the EPA is stepping in and not allowing emissions modifications via tuners which has shut down production of H&S tuners(not familiar with this company but who they use). I am not mechanically inclined enough to do the job myself but have got to find a way to get rid of the dpf!
Yeah H&S had to stop production of dpf delete tuners because of what's going on right now. Keep calling around and try to find somewhere that still has some in stock
As of Sunday there were probably 20 or more H&S mini max tuners on ebay for $901 "buy it now". If the EPA is cracking down then you better get while the getting is good. I was hoping the election would go the other way and the EPA would shrink, but it looks like that ain't gonna happen.

H&S stopped making the Black Max awhile back but it seems there are still plenty of minis for sale and their low cost one (i can't remember what it's called). What I read was that their screen supplier for the Black Max had gone out of business and they were trying to find a replacement.
Who knows though, Edge quit making "delete" tuners last year. At the time they said it was because they had just learned that people were using them illegally. I had a hard time believing that. I mean they were demanding the signed waiver like the rest of the companys.
