Cab swap

I have a 1979 f-350 dually dumptruck the cab is rusted badly i have found a cab off of a 1983 model will this cab mount up with little to no mods...if not what year models should i be looking for...if anyone has any info or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I would just try to find a 78-79 cab. They around you just got to let people know. The 83 would be a lot of work.

83 wont fit without mods. Any cab 73 to 79 will bolt on

ill try my best to help, i know an 80's model bed will fit on and 70's frame no problem so the cab and front end shouldnt been to much of a problem, im about to put a 78 f150 on a 86 bronco frame

I know the body style changed after 79 but is it definate that the cab mounting equipment changed between the year models

Not sure where you are located but I have a 79 350 cab in decent shape except the floor boards I would let go for 200 if your interested

Thats the issue with one im replacing now the floorboards are rusted out im almost flinstoning it haha...but im open to all options...can you send pocs of the cab and im located in ky where r u located

I need to start sending my cabs out to you guys out north east! I sit on good cabs forever or untill they start getting in the way & crush them. Lol

Me too - I've cut up a bunch I couldn't sell for $50 or even give away...

Not entirely true. The 73-77.5 F-250 4wds and the f-350 73-79 2wd cap and chasis trucks used outboarded rear cab mounts. The rest used inboared rear cab mounts. Not a direct bolt in but with a little work itll go on.

Im not tryin to be and *** but id beg to differ my 1978 f150 cab bolted on to a 70's 1 ton frame with not modification work at all

1 ton ccab and chassis or 1 ton truck? Theres a big difference.
