Stop Safely Now

My 2011 6.7 won't start or even crank with a message STOP SAFELY NOW. Had to be towed to nearest dealership. The dealership said no loaner or rental car cover under factory warranty, and the truck mileages at 20k. The dealership said it took 2 days just for them to diagnose it. I will post the result once the result come back.

Anyone out there had this issue before? I like to know what going on, and what caused this to happen.

Thanks

Usually an exhaust temperature sensor failure. Also could be other sensors in the exhaust treatment system. Likely electronic, not physical damage or major component failure.

I thought you were entitled to a loaner ride?

My understanding of the factory warranty, it's up to the dealer.
If you have the Ford based ESP plan, then you do get a rental after the truck has been there for an over night repair (won't get one the first night) and only up to 10 days.
And the rental will only be covered if the repair is covered.

So TNLS, if you have the Ford based ESP additional warranty and the repair is covered, you are due for a rental on Ford for up to 10 days.

Buy from a place that has a loaner for owners program. Warranty or not, you get a loaner when in for repair.

If you have an ESP, you CAN select car rental as an option. Granted that they attempt to include it, but, it is an option that cost $$$$$.

I have an extra car, so I declined...........

I sure didn't purchase the ESP when i bought this truck, i am consider to buy now. Any suggestion where to buy? The dealer where i purchase this truck offer a $200 off if i purchase through them.
If anyone have experience ESP, i appreciate your feedback.
What do i need to beware of when getting a ESP?
Can I purchase it through my auto insurance company?
