Fuel Cap and CEL

Was wondering if you get a CEL like on gas rigs if the fuel cap isnt on correctly with these rigs, Fueled up lastnight on way to work, 15 or so miles later light came on, checked it before leaving work this morn to make sure it was on.
I know on gasser's takes a while to go off, see what happens on way to work tonight i geuss.
Runs fine, no issues.

No. Gas vehicles need a system to prevent pressure buildup and trap/collect the fumes (hydrocarbons in tree hugger land) due to its increased volitility over diesel fuel and uses metered engine vacumn to check for vapor leaks; hence a missing gas cap will cause one huge vapor leak, annoying the CEL. Clear as mud?
