If your not already doing this you should give it a try. STOP BUYING GAS WITH ETHANOL!!!!!
Seriously just the switch from ethanol to non ethanol has made my truck run better and given me an extra 4mpg. I'm spending .25 more a gallon and saving about $4.00 a tank.
If you need to know where to find non ethanol gas check here.

Personally I have never gotten a 4 MPG increase by using non-blended fuel. My calculations on 4-5 different vehicles show an approximately savings of $2-$3 per tankful based on $.08 price difference, ~16 gallon tank and ~1-1.5 better MPGs using "straight" gasoline.
Sadly no one is offering non-blended 87 or 89 octane fuel anymore in my area. No way I would ever consider 91/93 octane non-blended. The price we pay in the name of progress.

I ran multiple back-to-back tests on these vehicles over the years:
1993 F150 Lightning (2)
1992 F350 w/5.8L
2004 Dodge Intrepid w/3.5L
2005 Dodge Stratus w/3.0L
2004 Excursion w/6.8L
All them responded with consistent 1-1.5 MPG improvement using non-blended fuel.

Ethanol has about 70% the energy content of straight gasoline. Blended fuel is 10% ethanol tops. 0.7(10)+1.0(90)=97% energy of straight fuel. So you should see about a 3% hit to fuel mileage running 10%EtOH blended fuel. My mileage does drop with blended fuel, but only by 0.5-1.0mpg, about on par with the reduced energy content.
There are many places where you can't buy non-blended fuel anymore. In my town, there are a couple stations, but they are probably going to vanish eventually. In MN, if you find non-blended fuel (I know of 1 pump waay up north), the pump is labeled "For Collector Cars or OffHighway Use Only" such a joke.
As a side note, I think EtOH is a better oxidant in our fuel than MTBE (due to its groundwater contamination), but no way is E85 a good idea, nor is increasing to a 20% EtOH blend. Besides all that, blended fuel is HELL on small high performance engines.
