Dually front end question

I've got a 77' F-350 supercab camper special that im converting to a dually. I was wondering if the front hub adapters off my 74' F-350 DRW would fit, they just bolt to the disk's.

the rotors are usually different. Spindles may also be different.

If they bolt on they should bolt on the other.

Its not always that simple with the fords. A none dually rotor will have different holes in it that a dually rotor. The single wheel rotor has holes for wheelstuds whereas the dually rotor has holes for normal bolts. Im also thinking the rotors have a different backset. I have a dually frontend setup out of a 75 layin in my scrap pile if youd like some pics.

couple parts to look at.

single wheel rotor

Buy Wearever Brake Rotor - Front YH141153 at Advance Auto Parts

dual wheel rotor

Buy Wearever Brake Rotor - Front YH141505 at Advance Auto Parts

Might also check with advance or napa on wheel bearing part numbers to make sure the dual wheelhubs will fit on a single wheel spindle

It all depends on the serial number, which is the last 6 digits of the VIN

D5UZ-1102-B .. Hub & Rotor Assy / 1975 E350 SRW/DRW / 1975 F350 SRW/DRW from serial number V80,001 / 1976/79 F350 SRW/DRW

1973/74, 1975 before serial number V80,001 not the same.
---------------------------------------------------------
D5TZ-3105-E Right & D5TZ-3106-E Left .. Front Spindles / 1975 F350 SRW/DRW from serial number W40,001 / 1976/79 F350 SRW/DRW

1973/74 & 1975 before serial W40,001 not the same.

Source: 1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog / Text Section 11.1 (Hub & Rotor-various parts lists) / Text Section 30, Parts List 30.2J (spindles).

Bill what i gather from that is depending on serial # the spindles are the same? What im not understanding is your info on the hub/rotor assembly. Is the rotor the same but uses a spacer in the drw version? Ive had the 2wd F-350 in both the srw and drw and i dont remember the rotors being the same. However i could be wrong. It seems to me that the drw setup i have not has a deeper "dish" to the back where the spacer bolts than the srw where the hub/rotor come together. Also bill out of pure curiousity are the srw version a floating rotor or does it attach to the back of the hub with the wheel studs pressed through?

I have no clue if the rotors float or not, parts catalog doesn't say. Since they're steel, they'd sink faster than the RMS Titanic.

1973/74 & 1975 before serial number V80,001: hub is different, rotor is different. These parts were sold individually.

1975 from serial number V80,001, 1976/79: Hub & Rotor sold as a one piece assembly.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1973/74, 1975 before serial number W40,000 use different spindles (D2TZ-3105-A right / D2TZ-3106-A left) than 1975 from serial number W40,001, 1976/79.

Same spindles used on F250's. Weight capacity of front axle different before serial number W40,001.
