Driving down I-75 at 70 mph, Monday,my 2000, F-250,SD, towing empty 16' flatbed equip. trailer, a (lady) ran into my left rear. I saw it in my mirror. As we started to jacknife I looked her in eyes for a secondwe hit the guardrail and rode it 300' or so. Only thought that went through my mind was I SHOULD HAVE FASTENED MY SEAT BELT,as I bounced around inside the cab .passenger had his on. We finely stopped and got out:-staun :-staun truck took the brunt of itl, she was sandwiched between truck and trailer. I had camper shell and back was full of tools and supplies, history! Thank God no one injered more than bumps and bruises.
Now I need to buy a new truck. I want a F250 4wd supercab diesel, I realy liked the powerstroke, only had 35,000 miles on it.
I haven't had much time to research this configuration and could use some help. Any input will be most appreciated. I need to replace this truck, it is a work truck.
REMBER TO BUCKLE UP
Glad to hear nobody got hurt. For the new truck, you may consider an F350. Not much more $$$ and you can haul 1100 lb more tools in the back. In fact, you may have been over your GVWR with the topper and tools.
Thanks for everyones concern about our wellbeing. minor stifness and soreness, passenger has tender ribs. I have thought about the 350, is there much differance in ride? How is the fuel economy, with the 3.73 rearend , auto trans, and 4wd? would it be close to the 250 2wd?
