I am going ahead with the spring swap, V or X codes for the front and modded B in the back. My question is the fact I already have aftermarket shocks, hellwig rear sway, and just recently put on Air bags on the back. Are there any further concerns for the airbags? Not that it was difficult but drilled through the block to attach the bottom of the airbag, so I will probably keep them. I also put new urethane on the stops. Can anybody suggest the best route for the rear with keeping the Excursion block and the overload spring with the B springs? I would like some rake but I am stuck with the stock tires and rims for a while so I don't want anything to jacked up. If I put V codes in the front how would you suggest to line up the back?<O</O
If I get what your saying, you are asking about the overloads? If I remember correctly, the reason I got C codes without overloads in the rear was that the overloads came way too close to the rear a/c lines on the right rear of the X. Believe me, you don't want to damage those.
Jus to add in another note, I am probably cutting most of the hardware off (rusted up) so I am just going to order all new u bolts, front/rear eye bolts and center spring bolts for rear. Only site I can find is sd truck springs, does anybody have a condensed hardware list for the swap and/or a website?
I bought my springs from SDTruckSprings..I bought new U-bolts and nuts from Ford. However, if you have a truck shop(or spring shop) around you, you can get the u-bolts cheaper. I went with X codes on front and used the standard X u-bolts and nuts. The C codes I put on the rear are form a 2003 F350 DRW w/o the overloads. I kept the stock Excursion blocks and bought F250 u-bolts and nuts from Ford. I used my present shocks although for the front, once I change them, I will buy F250 shocks for the front. I did a write up on here as well as many others and some have part numbers in them. I have the part numbers for the springs in my post. Here is the link: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...prings-in.html
Well the pick a part didn't go so well today, I did get a tail light off a E150 van but they couldn't give the mileage and front springs already had a twist. They wouldn't let the set go for anything less than $300 so that pretty much confirms that I want to go with new aftermarket springs, shipping is going to kill me. I am getting a front end bumper, grille, and headlights (deer). Since I am taking the bumper off I want go ahead with the front springs. Maybe wait for the rear, since I need to save some money the front hubs are going, I can hear the brakes when I turn and ABS light comes on around 45 mph. That is going to be a kick in the ...

Did you change anything to the C rear springs when you bolted them on. The new springs didn't come with the top overload spring, but you cant use that because of clearance. Did you take the spring pack apart? Or can you and make a "modified C" like the modified B with the spacers and two leafs from the excursion. I am thinking of removing the stiff lower straight spring and uses the overload spring from the excursion with the bumper???

No, I tool nothing apart. This is the way they come. '03 F350 4WD DRW springs w/o the overload. This is what they look like:

I have a set from a salvage yard, I also have Energy S urethane boots to redo. I guess the question do you know if anyone replace the lower leaf with the excursion overload spring, is it worth it?

Rain, That lower thing-a-ma-bob leaf on the factory EX rear springs is not an overload, it is a traction bar ("slapper bar" or "snubber bar"). Ford put it on our trucks due to the weak lower profile springs (compared to our SuperDuty cousins). The half spring with the rubber snubber is supposed to limit axle wrap under accelleration. If you go with the stronger SuperDuty springs such as the B codes (what I used) you shouldn't need the snubber bar any longer as axle wrap is not an issue with the stronger springs.
