I would do a visual on the tie rid ends and the links to the anti sway bar. Since it all turns on the top and bottom ball joints removing for inspection is a little hard but if the arm has been hit/bent there is physical damage pointing to a replacement in the near future. Eyeball it all. Look at the mounting for the Steer gear between the frame members and the front guard protectin it, has it been hit? Is the rear end in line, possibly pushed out left or right side?
It happened in this gen truck... and I say GOOD RIDDANCE. I'm tired of that leaky thing under my truck, if it isn't the box then it's the hoses, then the pump... Or like it was a little ago, all three at the same time...
Ever replace an "electric assist" steering rack? I have done a few on MINI's. You may miss the good old days of simple old hydraulic power steering components when you price this assembly....

No it had not been hit. Just went full lock and the truck slide on the snow for a short distance.
EPS has been used on some cars for years I think Honda had it on some mid 90s cars so its not new just new to F150. It also reduces parasitic HP loss of the pump. The systems are designed to protect the electric motors by monotoring the current in the system via some type of ECU
With that said I doubt if its a software problem which looks like that would be more widespread but maybe a ECU problem.
I'm not a mechanic but I'm an engineer.... so maybe someone who works on them knows whats wrong I only know theory. If your not happy take it to another dealer.
The dealer did look at it. They felt the steering and think it's in your imagination. Seriously, if it was really doing what you say then two people could easily come to the same conclusion.
