Looks like my FICM is dying... check engine light came on today while driving and I had codes for all 8 injectors, and the FICM. Voltage was showing 45 while driving down the highway, and would go down as I applied more throttle. Sits right at 49V while idling.
I need to have the truck running by Friday for a trip that I have planned. What route do you think I should take as far as getting this fixed? I'm running a PHP Atlas 40 tune and don't want to lose that, so going to the dealer is not an option (although I don't think I'd be going there for parts anyway). I can probably send it in to Ed and have it back by Thursday if I pony up for overnight shipping both ways. I see that I can potentially swap one with him as well, but I would lose my atlas tune if I did that.
I can also see about getting one sent from Bullet Proof and put it in the truck when I get it. I may go this route, even though it's a bit spendier. If I do this, is it worth the extra $200 to get a 6 phase and be able to run 58v?

I wouldn't make any assumptions until I spoke to Ed. Get on his website and send him an email, and try the phone number too esp. if you are in need of a quick response.
I have dealt with him before and called to ask him questions after my purchase. He has always called me back and been generous with his time on the phone.
He'll let you know what he can and can't do for you, particularly as you're sending him a FICM with a PHP 40 tune already installed and he works with those guys ... worth an ask.
He can fill you in on the 58v upgrade option ... as stated on his website he won't do it for you ... pasted from his site ->
Voltage Upgrades
There are other FICM repair options that talk about the benefits of upgrading the voltage on your FICM. In fact, following consumer demand, we used to offer these voltage upgrades as well. What we've learned over time, though, is that it is just a bad idea. These modules get hot enough as a result of sitting atop the engine - stressing them further by adding additional heat is just not a recipe for success.
Though we've seen just a few failures post-upgrade, a few is a few too many. Do yourself a favor and skip the upgrade.
I recently had FICM trouble with my 04 F350- 6litre Powerstroke engine. I was ready to "blow it to smithereens", I saw an article on 7-pin FICM repair. After pulling the FICM out, then dissecting it, I had an electrcian resolder the 16 points on the back, and resolder the Dale ROO75 resistors (8 points). Paid $25.00 for the resolder job, then re-assembled the unit, put back in truck-BANG!!!! Started immediately, runs very smooth and lowered my fuel milage to 14litres per 100km's. I'm not too happy with FORD for being so **** about this event. GJK
