#3 and #8 showing worse than the others is normal. A different CPS such as an original black one may improve the numbers. Unless the numbers are dramatically bad it is nothing to worry about.
Look at Rotational Velocity for all (8) cylinders and see what those values are. If it runs smooth, don't worry about it no matter what they are!! Either data log those values and/or write'em down so you can compare later.
As far as GP's go - OHM them out and see what they are. IIRC, anything under 2 ohms is good. No reason to replace them if they ain't broke and if yer poor, no harm in doing a couple if they're not good. Use Motorcraft ZF11 GP's, available at autoparts (~$10-11ea) - don't use aftermarket GP's, specifically Autolite.
You wanna look at the harness going to the 42pin connector and make sure its not chafed where it goes over the VC.
As long as the hood's open and along the same lines as the OD switch wiring in the steering column, check your 42 pin wire group where it runs over the driver's side VC, chafing happens on the underside. Same wire group at the driver's side shock mount is also a problem area. Armor as necessary. If it wears through it'll ground out on the VC and blow fuse 31, putting you on the side of the road. So I've heard........
I don't have it installed yet, but I purchased the HPx mod from Riff Raff, and it's a pretty simple, inexpensive tube that runs under the turbo spider and connects the high pressure oil systems in each head. From what I understand, it evens out the oil pressure, helping injectors fire more evenly. There's a lot of guys on here that can surely comment in much greater detail on its effectiveness, but possibly something to consider to even out your injector performance pending what they have to say.
Lastly, be sure to read a couple threads about the VC's, there's some helpful tricks to getting the more difficult bolts out people here have discovered. As always, an excellent resource.
Manual trans, no OD. I have the HPx (it's in the sig below) . I will check (and reinforce) the wiring on top of the VCs and shock mounts.
I currently have the "C" version of the CPS, proactively changed a few months ago, with a backup "C" version in the under back seat storage box.
I am barely keeping fuel in the truck, so no GPs unless they ohm out bad. I will only buy motorcraft GPs due to the information found here.
Ed, you asked and you received from the man himself. Also Clay posted it on FB also which is why I have a FB account and he has free giveaways once a week on FB. He just had a AE giveaway about a month ago. Most on here will say they will never own a FB account, that just leaves a better chance for me to win.
