Quick question: I found that the transfer case skid plate is missing on my 1993 Bronco. Does it support the transfer case or just protect it?? Is it worth finding one and reinstalling it? I'm not gonna be rock climbing or anything like that! (Maybe some trails though!)
I didn't think I really needed one for regular trail crawling, but put one on my Bronco (it was missing). Right now, it's about an inch higher in the center from smacking a rock. Glad it wasn't my transfer case.
I think my junk yard wanted $5 for one. If you can find one, might as well put it on.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the replys. I just wasn't sure. I think I'll start scouring the boneyards down here to see if I can find one.
By the way, me ECM should be here today. My brother in law (who has a shop) is getting it for me. I gotta get that in there to see what else it needs!
Just protection on my 1990, but it needs it, the transfer case is alumnium and magnesium, so any rock flip off the tire could puncture it.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
