i'm just shocked at how many people on this forum pick there crew cabs up for under 3k and they are beautiful looking shape out west......here these people are on crack lol
Not to be rude but what you have into it doesn't equate to what it would sell for.
I guess I am more looking at the low end, almost 10g for one in the condition described as low retail. That description fits mine and if anyone came along with half that in cash, I'd take it without a second thought.

I drove 2300 miles each way from Texas to Washington to get mine.
As I say it's all in the eye of the beholder anywhere from 900.00 to 5000.00 in stock form with mods I've seen as high as 20000.00. But like you say what you have in it is not what your going to get out of it.
I have heard the value of just the rear doors of a crew could be up to $2000 just for one door. Don't know if that's true or not
Guess that depends on how bad somebody needs one.
Far as the NADA guide goes I'm not si sure they update that very often and it really is just a guide. A thing is worth what a willing buyer will pay to a willing seller. Worth has nothing to do with asking prices or offers... worth is where the rubber hits the road and all the bs and smoke has cleared.
Ever notice too... that everything has a season. Not just best time of the year but more like the moment in time when a "thing" really has it's moment in the sun. Seems that when people reach an age when they can afford toys they are the generation that sort of decides what the new hot thing will be.
This isn't a hard fast rule but... If you take a persons age odds are they're going to have a personal thing for some vehicles or whatever that were around in big numbers when they were about ten years old. I remember when the old Model T's and A's were the thing and they were bringing good money. There was a time when they brought more than a Shelby Mustang. Now the folks that admired the old A's a lot are dyig off and the folks following behind might rather a 40's coupe... and behind them are the folks like myself that wish they'd snagged up a Shelby back when they weren't priced through the roof.
Everything has a season... Every dog has its day. I really expect and believe I'm seeing the prices of the good old bumpsides dropping. People that are around 20 or 30 now aren't very likely to be that into them. They're likely to desire vehicles for the 80's or 90's. (Yuk...!)
I will never get out of it what i will have in to it. You never do on a restoration.
I have a spare set of fixable rear doors if any one needs them. Need to be re skinned.
I managed to scrounge up a set of rear doors thanks to Numberdummy at a salvage yard in LA for 300 bucks for the pair. Sometimes you can find deals. I have seen a set here in the valley comparable and the owner wants 1500 for the pair. Mine are rust free socal takeoffs that sat in the yard for at least 15 years.
