Buy a spare and throw it in the truck while you're at it.
When I'm due for a change, I use the one in the truck and replace the spare with a newer one.
I've never needed it but it's there if I do.
That seems like a lot for a fuel filter change, I wonder what the filters cost. I have only had my truck a month so haven't had to do anything to it but drive it. If you are not comfortable with changing them yourself the $99 dollar filter change might be the best bet. The other thing to check on is warranty if the fuel filter housing is cracked and obviously you haven't messed with it since you didn't even know what it was, maybe Ford will warranty it, it's worth a try.

I thought that was a GOOD deal! And although as mentioned I'm not mechanically inclined watching the video I think I'll try it. We will see! Again thank everybody for all of the replies.
I agree if the filter kit is $60 bucks, $99 bucks to have the dealer change them would be a good deal. Is your truck still under warranty? I would hope that if it was cracked that it would be under warranty.
By the way Drzr I am in the North West, Washington State, no storms here.
That housing just holds a sealed filter, even if it is cracked, there shouldn't ever be any fuel in that holder. Has to be the filter itself or the connection of the lines is bad.
Please be sure to inspect the o rings and that those connectors are in good shape. Really don't want you to have a fuel leak on top of the motor!

If you're talking about my picture example, that's all I had to try to determine Dr's location of the issue.
I would have posted one with the filter in there if I had one.
My take from his description is the sealed filter plastic is cracked inside of that metal housing.
Fuel should be touching the inside plastic sidewalls of the sealed filter, correct?
It took a bit of a hit when I cracked mine open on purpose awhile back so hard to explain how it cracked.
