need help with 1997 F250/%.8l efi engine

1997 F250 problems
<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d1d1e1; COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I have an F250 titled 1997, suspect was built in 1996. It has the 5.8l EFI engine.
Recently rats chewed up injector connector wiring of #3 & 4 injectors. The wiring was shorted out on these two injectors. The engine would run, but only on 4 cylinders.
I have since replaced the connector wiring. The engine still runs the same as it did, (4 cylinders only), before replacing the wiring. No improvement at all.
I have re laced the plugs, plug wiring, distributor cap and rotor and the ignition control module without success.
Help would be greatly appreciate.
Thank you, Jerry

Thanks, Bashby Is there some way that I can test the computer before replacing it? I do not have a code reader or access to one,

Assuming your truck is using Speed Density (Batch Fire) engine control you can reference this diagram:

courtesy of oldfuelinjection.com

The PCM fires injectors 1,4,5&8 then 2,3,6&7. All of the injectors should have +12VDC on the supply (Red) side with the key in the On position. The PCM then grounds via the Tan or White wire to turn the respective injectors on.

If 3 and 4 are still not firing it is not a problem with the PCM, it's the wiring or connectors.
