I recently had to put a new turbo on that i bought from ford, my old one took a dump and broke the shaft and dumped oil out the exhaust side but none into the intake side ore the CAC tubes. since then whenever my truck is under a load like accelerating from a stop it surges and it kind of pulls... its hard to explain... but it sounds like a turbo issue but i am not completely sure about that. i can hear the loud whistle on and off on and off.... and my boost gauge fluctuates with it...
i did use the old sensor on the turbo but everything else was new.
any ideas?
thanks
You should try to clean EBP Sensor & Tube with some Carb Cleaner
You can also check it with a Gauge at KOEO against the other pressure sensors
See that is what I would have thought as well... But if you read cheezit's post to me it sounds like he is saying the VGT would be the cause. Maybe he will chime in...
Also this was never an issue until the new turbo was installed making me think it would most likely be an issue with the Vgt bc it came off the junked turbo...

I see I didnt see what Cheezit wrote till you just mentioned it I think I see where he was going with it
You Could change the VGT siliniod or Maybe the VGT Wireharness has a Short just another thought things did get moved around and changed out
I suspect he mentioned the VGT since it started to act up After turbo replaced and there was no mention of Turbo issue that cause drivability problems leading up to Turbo shaft breaking and stuff just a sudden Failure
Might NOT Hurt confirm the EBP sensor would check the operating value with a Gauge
And you can Also check the VGT Operation but you would need some high tech software to be able to control the truck to check the VGT AE with Ford Enhanced would do it to or Dealer
basicly what you are removing by disconnecting the ebp is the pcm imput for vgt so the vgt will be more stable but still work. basicly it stops the vgt from freaking out.
imo find a vgt for it and try.
and yes a vgt will throw a p0401, p0299,p132b, but a stuck turbo will as well
