improving OBS ride quality
Sooo, a pregnant wife and a fussy toddler have driven the final nails in the coffin of my OBS ride quality. To make spring replacement more interesting the truck is lifted and I don't know how much(I bought it lifted) - there is a 4" aftermarket block and It looks like an extra leaf(or add-a-leaf) in the back so I would estimate a 6" lift? - there are pics in "my garage".
The truck rides like a covered wagon, I've lost a couple IQ points going over railroad tracks.
I read an old thread here but the truck in question was stock height, I'd prefer not to do that deep of a makeover...
Any recommendations on this one?

Hmmm, it appears they are located in Springfield, OR - that would be righteous seeing how I am only about an hour from there. How much difference should be expected from this setup?

Just FYI, a F350 4x4 has a 4" block from the factory out back.
I have the stock 4" block out back and a Sky 3" RSK on my truck with stock front springs and it rides about as well as my truck did when it was 2wd with coil springs. I'm happy with the ride, but if you want it even smoother you can do a RSK with the V-code springs (I think Sky is now making a bolt-on RSK for use with those springs on an OBS).
The smoothest ride options would be to swap in a '05 or newer front axle with coils, or you can get a full air-ride suspension from airbagit.com for a few thousand bucks. Not cheap, but I've heard good things about their kits. If I had the money I'd go with the air bags front and back.

I'm in south Salem, pretty close to
Ya. The 4" block in my truck is aftermarket - there's a 2" ford block with the horn on the side in there as well. I just replaced the 4" blocks because the ones that were on it were all chewed up from the previous owner and a lot of axle wrap (no ladder bars). But I added a nice set of procomps at the same time.

Ha, no doubt. I'm currently watching Craigslist for a 100 gal transfer tank, that'll provide some weight to smooth her out a bit. I'm going to talk with the guys at sky tomorrow and see where it goes.

Does anyone know a good source for the Superduty v code springs? I've checked craigslist, nickel ads and all of my ford truck buddies with no luck... and I have a feeling that the trucks I'm gonna find being parted out are going to have 250k + miles on the springs. RockAuto.com has a bunch of springs but I'm unfamiliar with a few of the brand names, so I am a bit skeptical...

A dude on here messaged me and was trying to sell a 90 or 100 gal tank. He was located in Redding, Ca. Red460 is his name I believe.
